A Paris, J. Collombat, 1741
Large octavo decorated with a frontispiece, a title engraved with 3 inserts by Humblot, numerous historiated banners and initials. Period binding in red morocco decorated with rich fanfare decoration. Ribbed back decorated with a motif of ribbons and fleur-de-lis. The decoration of the dishes was made using an engraved plaque. This central decoration is framed by a large frieze of foliage and flowers. Guilloche cuts. All golden edges.
Superb copy in a fanfare binding, called “of the last type”, struck with the arms of Louis XVIII (variant of OHR 2497-2: without the 3 small dots above the acanthus leaves which frame the crown).
