Reissue of this singular treaty, the first edition of which was born in Paris in 1693. It deals with the useful wand for the discovery of water sources, mines, hidden treasures, thieves, and fugitive murderers. The work is remarkable for its illustration, it is illustrated with a curious frontispiece representing the mistress of the wand, with five uncovered breasts, and 23 plates showing different ways of holding the wand, instruments and tables of divinatory calculations.
