Large folio, red morocco, ribbed back richly decorated with motifs and pieces of arms in each box with fleurs-de-lys in spandrels, triple gilded net framing the dishes with golden coat of arms in their center, golden roulette on the cups and interior, Ir. gilded (binding of the time).
First edition illustrated with a frontispiece by Coypel engraved by Simonneau containing a portrait of Louis XIV, an engraved title and 286 plates. The vignettes are by Leclerc, the frames by Simonneau and the medals by Cochin senior. (Cohen 695.)
