First edition of the Ornithologie seul de l'Encyclopédie méthodique published in Paris and Liège, by Panckoucke and Agasse from 1782 to 1832. The last volume (plates) includes 247 plates engraved on copper numbered: 1 to 240 and 1 to 7, including 9 double-paged, made under the direction of Robert Benard.
The Encyclopédie méthodique known as the Encyclopédie de Panckoucke is a monumental encyclopedia gathering 206 volumes including 47 plates in total. Several hundred authors and many artists participated in its development.
