 In-8 half-brown olive basane, smooth spine decorated with cold stamps and quadruple gilded fillets, speckled edges. Contemporary binding.

Xll (including half-title and title) - 52pp. (table of monuments in order of numbers) - 256pp. (dissertation on the beard and the costumes of each century followed by the treatise on painting on glass). Tiny losses of paper on the edges and a small loss of leather on one corner of the lower cover otherwise a good copy without foxing of this unusual document.

Alexandre Lenoir, born in Paris on December 26, 1761, died in Paris on June 11, 1839, fought against revolutionary vandalism and opened the Museum of French Monuments to the public in 1795.

Administrator of this museum, he is a member of the Celtic Academy of France, of the free society of sciences, letters and arts of Nancy.

Eighth revised and enlarged edition.

 Good copy in simple contemporary binding. The dissertation on costumes includes a section on costume in Celtic monuments.
